9. Aims and Objectives:

1. The tightening of the relations between the emigrant and the residents of Pelendri: This was achieved through the various events organized by the association like dances, festivals, shows etc. We gave the occasion to the emigrants to visit their community and to watch the various events that were realized there.

2. We tried to upgrade the quality of life of the residents of our village, offering to them via the various events, the occasion to meet with their children, and also with some artists, from Cyprus and from Greece. The veterans of life, the old residents of our village, have also the right to have some days of insouciance and entertainment. We have to remember all our customs. The newest must learn them and the oldest must remember them.

3. We tried to show our local creation: Through the various events, we gave the occasion to tens of individuals to show their talent in theatre, music, dance, painting and to make their work well known, so much to the residents of Pelendri and its emigrants, and also to all places of Cyprus. How many from us knew that we have so good and appreciable painters in our village and not only these…

4. We tried to make Pelendri well known to all places of Cyprus. This was achieved:
(a) By showing the customs of our village. We had a program at CYBC, at the program of dear Costas Charalambides, for the custom of the transport of the picture of Virgin Mary from Pelendri to its chapel, at Kato Amiantos. With the last year attendance of Metropolitan of Morfou, we gave more prestige and publicity to this custom. We hope that next year the Metropolitan of Limassol, Athanassios will lead the course.

(b) By showing our ancient monuments. The program with the conducted tour in our two ancient churches, from a functional of the Department of Antiquities, had a great success.

(c) By showing the natural beauties of our village, while walking at the splendid Path of Nature, from Moni to Fylagra, we gave occasion to the people of Pelendri and to foreigners, to see the beauties of our village.

(d) By the organization of the two successful festivals that took place in our community, together with their announcement, so much at television by the channels CYBC and CAPITAL, and also with radio interventions, insets, posters, statements etc.

5. To help economically for the manufacture of developmental work in our community. We are in continuous contact with the President and the Council of the community for this aim.

10. The plans of the Emigrants Association of Pelendri for the year 2004 are:

1. Publication and disposal of a calendar for the year 2004. It will be constituted from paintings of new painters of Pelendri, which were created for the painting presentation of the 2nd Cultural Festival.

2. Creation of a park at the entry of our Community, in the memory of the unforgettable young persons, Giannis Panteli and Andreas Pantelides that were unfairly lost.

3. It began the planning for the 3rd 3-day Cultural Festival, that takes place in August at our community. We will upgrade it into an International Cultural Festival and we will enrich it with new programs. Attention will be given to our local creation.

4. We will receive the friends of the village, at the chapel of Virgin Mary at Amiantos, after the transport of the picture of Virgin Mary, at Thursday after Easter.

5. We will continue our efforts (already a team of initiative has been made), for right planning, for the right redevelopment of Pelendri.

6. We will "watch" for the quick completion of the path for the study of nature at Moni – Fylagra.
